Dudley Holland was born in Surrey in 1915. He was a British painter, muralist, designer, printmaker and teacher.

Holland attended Chelsea School of Art and subsequently graduated from Willesden School of Art (1936). He declined an offer from the Royal College of Art in favour of teaching position at Willesden School of Art. Holland also taught at Harrow School of Art and Goldsmiths' College, London. In 1949 he was appointed head of York Art School and, in 1951, head of Guildford School of Art.

Holland exhibited at the Royal Academy (1937), York City Art Gallery (1950), with the NEAC (New English Arts Club), Arts Council, Cambridge and the Redfern Gallery in Cork Street, London.

Dudley Holland died, in a motorcycle accident, in 1956, aged 36.

A retrospective exhibition of his work was held at Guildford School of Art.

Examples of HollandÂ’s works are held in the collections of York City Art Gallery, Dundee Art Gallery and Arts Council England.
