Ivan Jordell 1901-1965

Tord Ivan Jordell was born on 19th July 1901 in Katrineholm, Sweden. He was a Swedish painter of landscapes, cityscapes and portraits.

Jordell attended Skånska Målarskolan, Malmö (1930-31). His first solo exhibition was at the Malmö Museum (1932).

In 1937 he became a member of the Konstföreningen Aura (Aura Art Association)

Jordell exhibited at the Malmö Museum (1940), at the Gothenburg Art Gallery (Göteborgs Konsthall) in 1945 - and again (with the sculptor Nanna Ullman) in 1946 and the Linköping Museum (alongside the artists Martin Emond and Felix Hatz) in 1950

Examples of Jordell¬ís work are held in the collections of the National Museum and Moderna Museet, Stockholm; the Malmö Museum; Gothenburg Art Museum and Statens Museum for Kunst (National Gallery of Denmark), Copenhagen.

Jordell died in Malmö in 1965, aged 64.
