Hans Andreas Dahl 1881-1919
Hans Andreas Dahl was born on 1st August 1881. He was a Norwegian painter.
Hans Andreas Dahl was the son of the Norwegian painter Hans Dahl (1849-1937) who painted finely detailed fanciful landscapes in the Nasjonalromantikken (Norwegian Romantic Nationalism) style - often associated with the Düsseldorf school of painting.
Hans Andreas Dahl was born in Dusseldorf and his family moved to the Wilmersdorf area of Berlin in 1888. Summers were spent in their family home in Balestrand, Norway. Kaiser Wilhelm II was a patron of Dahls father and visited them there on several occasions.
From 1910, Hans Andreas Dahl had his own studio located in Oslo.
Hans Andreas Dahl died of tuberculosis on 27th March 1919, aged of 37.
