Viktor Holmlund 1884-1938

Viktor Jonas Holmlund was born in Trehörningssjö in 1884. He was a Swedish painter.

Holmlund attended the Konsthögskolan (Academy of Fine Arts), Stockholm (1913-1920).

In the mid-1930s, he took painting trips to Lofoten - an archipelago in Norway known for its dramatic scenery, but otherwise painted in Ångermanland (northern Sweden bordering Swedish Lapland). Holmlund participated in a series of exhibitions in Örnsköldsvik and exhibited annually with the Ångermanland's Art Association.

Viktor Holmlund died in Örnsköldsvik in 1938, aged 54.

A memorial exhibition was held in Örnsköldsvik in 1948. Examples of Holmlund's work are held in the collections of Moderna Museet, Stockholm, Norrköping Art Museum and Örnsköldsvik's museum.
