Inga Hense 1919-1999

Inga Sylvia Hense-Haage was born in Helsingborg on 31 March, 1919. She was a Swedish painter and textile artist.

Hense attended Konstfackskolan (Academy of Arts, Crafts and Design), Stockholm (1937-1941) and the Konsthögskolan (Academy of Fine Arts), Stockholm (1941-1943). Hense travelled o France (1946), and to England and Scotland (1948).

Hense exhibited at the annual 'Unga tecknare' (Young Artists) exhibition at the National Museum, Stockholm and at the Helsingborg Art Association's spring exhibitions. Other exhibitions include '7 unga från Konstakademien' (7 young people from the Academy of Fine Arts), Killbergs Konstsalong, Helsingborg (1943), Konstnärernas salong, Helsinki (1946), Lidköpings konstförening (1950), 'Konstklubben 52', Helsingborg (1952), and 'Kulla-konst', Höganäs (1951).

Examples of her work were held in the collections of Nationalmuseum, Stockholm and the Vikingsberg Art Museum, Helsingborg.

Inga Sylvia Hense died in 1999, aged 80.
