Carl Delden 1906-1997

Carl Ferdinand Evert Delden was born on 29th January 1906 in Söderköping. He was a Swedish artist.

Delden was self taught. He took study trips to Morocco (1932), Norway (1933), Estonia (1935), Denmark (1939), France (1947) and France and Spain (1951). In 1942, Delden married Margit Ingeborg Bergqvist.

Delden first exhibited in Linköping (1943). Other exhibitions include Elsa Lindström's annual 'Modern Konst i Hemmiljö' (Modern Art in the Home) at Galerie Moderne, Stockholm (1946) - Established in 1939, the salon exhibited the work of young artists in various locations around Stockholm for almost 70 years. Norrköping and Sollefteå (1947), Borås (1948) and Söderköping (1951). Deaden also exhibited frequently with the Konstnärernas Riksorganisation (Swedish Artists Association).

Examples of Delden's works are held in the collections of Moderna Museet (Museum of Modern Art) and Nationalmuseum (National Museum) in Stockholm, King Gustav VI Adolf collection, Norrköpings Konstmuseum and Östergötland Museum.

Carl Delden died in Norrköping on 18th July 1997, aged 91
