Pantti Raimo Olavi Tulla was born in Laukaa on 15th June 1937. He was a Finnish painter.

Tulla attended University of Turku (Turun yliopistossa) and University of Helsinki (Helsingin yliopistossa) where he studied mathematics. He was employed as a maths teacher in Kemijärvi before becoming a full-time artist in 1973.

Tulla first exhibited in Helsinki in 1961. Other group exhibitions include, Exhibition of Finnish Artists (1972-1982); with the Finnish Academy of Arts (Suomen Taideakatemia) in Helsinki (1971), their 'Kuvakulma Pohjoiseen' exhibition (1973) and 'Realism I' (1974); with the Association of Finnish Art Associations ( 1966, 1968, 1971, 1972, 1981) and with National Organization of Finnish Painters (Taidemaalariliito) touring exhibitions 'Kuva kuvasta' (1976-78) and 'Systemaatikkoja' (1982). International group exhibitions include New York and Saratoga Springs, USA (1973), Stockholm (1976), Germany (1977), Hungary (1978), 'New Abstraction', Copenhagen (1977); 'For Peace', Alta, Norway (1981) and 'Arteder '82', Bilbao, Spain (1982).

Tulla was Lapland's County Artist from 1974 until 1983. He received the Finnish Art Council Award in 1979.

A Retrospective Exhibition was held in 2017 at Kemijärvi Culture House (Kemijärven kulttuuritalossa)

Pentti Tulla died in Kemijärvi on 12th November 1988, aged 51.
