Tore Lennart Hultcrantz was born on 30th January 1923 in Djursholm. He was a Swedish painter and designer.

Hultcrantz attended Otte Sköld's painting school (Otte Skölds Målarskola) and the Academy of Fine Arts (Konstakademien), Stockholm (1944-1948). He travelled to Denmark, England, France Holland, Italy and Norway (1945-1952) and married Gunila Odelfelt in 1951.

Hultcrantz first exhibited at the National Museum's exhibition 'Unga Tecknare' (Young artists), Stockholm in 1950 - He exhibited there again 1951 and 1952. Solo exhibitions include Copenhagen (1950 and 1952); Galleri Gummesons, Stockholm (1951 and 1952); Galerie Blanche, Stockholm (1952); Göteborg Konsthallen (1952); Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam (1951); Edinburgh Festival (1951): Eskilstuna Konstmuseum, with Torsten Renqvist and Gun Kessle (1954).

Hultcrantz was also interested in theatrical set design and choreography and, in 1954, joined the Norrköping City Theatre

Tore Hultcrantz is represented at the Moderna museet, Stockholm (a 1952 linocut, two paintings and a drawing), Västerås Art Museum and Hudiksvall Museum. Hultcrantz's public works include a stained glass window at Handelsbanken's head office, Stockholm.

Tore Hultcrantz died in Stockholm on 30th August 1998, aged 75.
