Rei Yuki was born (Uemura Noria) in Tokyo in 1928. He was a Japanese printmaker.

Yuki attended the Athenee-Francais language school, Tokyo (1952). He studied woodblock printing under the artist Shinagawa Takumi (1908-2009) and started exhibiting with Nihon Hanga Kyokai (Japanese Print Association) in 1954.

In 1966 Yuki co-authored ‘Japanese Printmaking, A Handbook of Traditional & Modern Technique’ with Yoshida Toshi (1911-1995)

Yuki exhibited extensively in Japan and internationally - Notable exhibitions include Nihon Hanga Kyokai (1954); 47th Shun'y?-kai (Spring Principle Association) exhibition (1970); Xylon International Print Triennial, Switzerland (1970 and 1990); Premio International Print Biennial, Italy (1991); Mexico-Japan Print Exhibition, Mexico City (1992); Shunyi-Kai Art Exhibition, Tokyo (1999) and Han 17 Exhibition, Toronto (2000).

His works are held in the collections of the British Museum; Carnegie Museum of Art; Los Angeles County Museum of Art; Osaka National Museum of International Art; Cincinnati Art Museum; Musée Vivant-Denon, France; Yokohama Museum and the Art Gallery of New South Wales.

In 1996 Yuki had a solo exhibition in Yokohama, Japan. In 2005 'Rei Yuki Complete Print Works Catalogue Raisonné' was published.

Rei Yuki died in 2003, aged 75.
