Karin Persson was born in Vemmenhögs, Sweden in 1891. She was a Swedish artist and printmaker

Persson attended the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen (Kongelige Danske Kunstakademi) for a year in 1912 and, for a couple of years, worked as an artist at the Royal Porcelain (Royal Copenhagen) Factory in Copenhagen (Kongelige Porcelænsfabrik).

After the outbreak of the First World War in 1914, she moved back to Sweden and attended the Tekniska Skolan (Technical School) in Stockholm. After graduating in 1915, Persoon took a position as a teacher at the Lyceum (Lyceum för flickor) private school for girls in Stockholm. She was a teacher at the school until 1956.

In 1937, Persoon was elected to be a memeber of the Grafiska Sällskapet (Graphic Society) in Stockholm - Formed in 1910, the society is an association of artists working across the range of different printing techniques. Persoon was awarded first prize at the society’s annual competition in 1939 and her work was exhibited at Svaneholm Castle (Svaneholms Slott) in Southern Sweden.

Persoon exhibited with the Graphic Society in Ekströms (1945), was included in the 'Modern Swedish Graphics' (Nutida Svensk Grafik) exhibition held at the National Museum in Stockholm (1951) and the Swedish Institute’s exhibition in Johannesburg, South Africa (1956). 'De Unga' (The Young) in Stockholm (1968), Ystad Museum (1999) and the recent exhibition '100 years of Swedish Graphics' (100 år av Svensk Grafik) held at the National Museum in Stockholm.

Examples of her works are held in the collections of Moderna Museet and National Museum in Stockholm, the Malmö Museum, Gothenburg Art Museum, H.M. King Gustav VI. Adolfs collection, the Ateneum (art museum), Helsinki and the Bergen Kunstmuseum, Norway.
