The recently refurbished Grade II listed Haggerston School was designed by Erno Goldfinger and built between 1964 and 1965. Erno Goldfinger was an Hungarian-born London-based modernist architect and furniture designer. Inspired by Auguste Perret and Le Corbusier's Vers une architecture, Goldfinger was one of the first architects to develop the use of the concrete aesthetic in the UK. Goldfinger was also the architect behind Trellick Tower in Golborne Road and the inspiration for Ian Fleming's infamous villain.
