Olle Hagdahl (1910-1991)

Karl Erik Olof (Olle) Hagdahl was a Swedish painter, sculptor and commercial artist.

Hagdahl was born in Stockholm on 20th August 1910. He studied at the Konstfack (University College of Arts, Crafts and Design) in Stockholm (1923-1924) and at Henry Blomberg's School of Painting (Blombergs Målarskola) from 1925 until 1930. Between 1935 and 1939 Hagdahl attended the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts were he was taught (painting) by Isaac Grünewald (1889-1946) and (graphics) by Emil Johanson-Thor (1889-1958) and Harald Sallberg (1885-1963)

In 1938 Hagdahl designed a banknote for he Swedish National Bank (Sveriges Riksbank)

During the 1950s and 1960s Hagdahl, along with the illustrator Magnus Gerne (1921-1987) and Photographer Karl Werner Edmund (KW) Gullers (1916-1998), was heavily involved in a Swedish government project to promote Swedish Industry to attract migrant workers from Scandinavia and Europe.

Olle Hagdahl died in Stockholm on 2nd December 1990, aged 80.
