Per-Erik Böklin was born in Nyköpng, Sweden on 24th March 1913. He was a Swedish painter and print maker.

Böklin moved to Stockholm in 1933 and initially studied architecture and worked in an architectural office (1937-1938) while studying at Otte Sköld's målarskola (Painting School). Böklin then attended the Academy of the Arts (Konsthögskolan), Stockholm (1938-1943).

Böklin's first exhibited at the Konsumrestaurangen, Sveavägen 68, Stockholm (1946). He then travelled to Switzerland, Italy, France, England and Holland between 1947 and 1948.

In 1949 he participated in the 'Ny Realitet' (New Reality) group exhibition - held at the Gävle Museum, and the Västerbottens county Art - alongside Olle Bonniér, Randi Fisher, Arne Jones, Lage Lindell, Pierre Olofsson, KA Pehrson and Lennart Rodhe. In 1950 the same group staged 'Konkret Konst' (Concrete art) at the Örnsköldsviks Art Society and Stockholmskonkretister at the Hallands Museum (1954).

Böklin painted abstract works in different mediums including gouache, tempera, oil and mixed media and also produced lithographs and linocut prints.

In 1975, the retrospective exhibition 'Per-Erik Böklin - 25 års Försök i Konsten' (Per-Erik Böklin - 25 years of Experiments in Art) at held at the Eskilstuna Art Museum. In 1991 he donated over 300 pieces of work to the Museum.

Böklin's final solo exhibition was at Galerie BelÂ’Art, Stockholm in 1992. The catalogue preface was written by Oscar Reutersvärd (1915-2002), the Swedish graphic artist, who in 1934 pioneered the art of impossible 3D drawings.

Per-Erik Böklin died in 1999 at his farm in Limängen, aged 86.
