Gilou Brillant was born on 7th March 1935 in Essertines, Loire, France
A french painter and graphic designer, Brillant studied at the Ecole de Beaux Arts in Paris and Atelier Friedlaender (Johnny Friedlaender).
Her solo exhibitions include Galerie Ariane (Sweden) and La Nouvelle Gravure (Paris) in 1970, Galerie Paul Brock (Luxembourg), Galerie 32 (Lyon) and Galerie Flat 5 (Bruges) in 1971 and Galerie Regence (Brussels) in 1972
Brillant won 2nd prize at the Biennale of Gravures in Pescia, Italy in 1968 and 1st prize at the Biennale International at Catania, Sicily in 1969 and 1st prize at the Biennale International of Montecatini, Italy in 1989
