Label to reverse reads: ‘British Official Photo. B.5472/RN. Liberation of Europe: allied airborne troops capture another French village. The village of Breville, which lies on the opposite side of the river Orne to the main Normandy bridgehead, was captured on the night of 12th June. After heavy mortar barrage had been laid down it was finally taken by Allied airborne troops and soon our tanks were moving forward to consolidate the position. Picture shows: British airborne troops moving a German anti-tank gun into position during mopping up operations in Breville (Pictures issued: June 1944.).'
