New York Bureau / Mad dash to death Paris, France - Dashing down a Paris street during the embattled hours before the city's liberation, this nazi officer was stopped by the very thing he was running from - A bullet from an FFI gun. French patriots picked the enemy soldier off, firing through the bars before this balcony window. Gaston Madru, Newsreel cameraman who served with the Paris underground throughout the occupation of the city, recorded this scene in the battle for Paris.
