Heli Ojanperä 1921-1994

Heli Annikki Ojanperä was born in Tampere on 22nd July 1921. She was a Finnish painter and writer.

Ojanperä attended Turku Art Association's Drawing School (1936-1938) and the Fria Målarskolan (Free Art School) Vapaa Taidekoulu, Helsinki (1943). Established by the Finnish art collector and patron Maire Gullichsen (1907-1990) in 1934, Vapaa Taidekoulu replicated teaching styles of the academies in Paris.

Ojanperä first exhibited at the annual Youth Exhibition (Nuorten Näyttelyyn), Helsinki Art Hall in 1945. Other exhibitions include annual exhibition of the Society of Finnish Artists (Suomen Taiteilijain Näyttely) (1946 and 1947); Gothenburg (1946) and Stockholm (1949).

Heli Ojanperä died in 1994, aged 73.
