Nils Bäcklin 1913-1989

Nils Gustav Bäcklin was born in Stockholm on 9th April 1913. He was a Swedish artist.

Bäcklin attended the Stockholm Painting schools of both Isaac Grünewald and the Swedish artist, ceramist and designer Edwin Ollers (1888-1959). Ollers was also a lecturer at the Konstfack (University College of Arts, Crafts and Design), Stockholm between 1925 and 1948. Bäcklin also attended the Fernand Léger painting academy in Paris.

Bäcklin first exhibited ‘Kost i Svenska Hem’, Stockholm (1942). Other exhibitions include (alongside Bertil Wahlberg) Sandviken (1948); Spånga and Sandviken (1949) and alongside (his wife) the sculptor, Hedy Bäcklin and painter Åke W. Andersson at Galerie Acté, Stockholm (1949).

Nils Bäcklin died in 1989, aged 76
