Eric Cederberg 1897-1984

Eric Algot Cederberg was born in Välluv, near Helsingborg, on 27th June 1897. He was a Swedish artist.

Self-taught, Cederberg studied art during trips to Denmark and Germany (1929 and 1950), Paris (1947 and 1950) and to Southern France (1950).

Cederberg first exhibited in Helsingborg in 1922. Other exhibitions include Helsingborg (1947), SDS-Hallen, Malmö (1940, 1946 and 1949), Landskrona and Ystad (1942) and Åstorp (1947). He exhibited regularly with Skåne Artists' Club (from 1926), the National Artists' Association, Helsingborg (from 1938) and the 'Kulla-Konst' exhibitions, Höganäs (from 1945). He was awarded the Helsingborg medal in 1970.

His works are included in the collections of Kristianstad Museum, Västerås Art Museum, Skissernas Museum, Lund and the Helsingborg Museum 'Utsikt från ateljén' (View from the Studio), 1940.

Eric Cederberg died in 1984, aged 87.
