Olof Larsén 1907-1998

Karl Olof Henrik Larsén was born in Harrogate, England on 26th June 1907. He was a Swedish painter.

Larsén attended art school in New York (1936), at Edvin Oller's painting school, Stockholm (1943–1944) and the Académie Julian, Paris (1947).

Solo exhibitions include Thurestams Konstgalleri, Stockholm (1948); Kalmar (1949); Östersund and Helsinki (1953). He also participated in Konstfrämjandet's traveling exhibitions in the early 1950s.

Konstfrämjandet was formed in 1947 by artists (including Isaac Grünewald, Otte Sköld and Lennart Rodhe) as a counter-movement against mass produced 'kitsch art' reproductions.

Olof Larsén died in in Lövestad, Skåne January 1998, aged 90.
