Sven Gösta Ehrenberg 1923-2019

Sven Gösta Ehrenberg was born in Falun, central Sweden, on 25th November 1923. He was a Swedish artist.

Ehrenberg attended Konsthögskolan (Royal Institute of Art), Stockholm (1942-46) and made study trips to England, France and Italy. In 1949 he married fellow artist Solveig Borggren (1914–93). Ehrenberg was awarded the Carl Larsson Scholarship in 1949

Ehrenberg first exhibited with Dalarna Art Association (Dalarnas Konstförening) in 1940. Solo exhibitions include Gummesons Gallery (Galleri Gummesons) (1950 and 1952); Lund (1951); Grafiska Sällskapet (Graphic Society) (1967) and Sveagalleriet (1971). Group exhibitions include 'Unga Tecknare', National Museum, Stockholm (1942); 'Svenska Akvareller (Swedish Watercolours) 1925-1947’, Konstakademien, Stockholm (1947) and 'Dalgruppens', Umeå (1951). Ehrenberg also participated in Biennales in Tokyo, Warsaw, Krakow and Florence.

Examples of Ehrenberg's work are held in National Museum and Moderna Muséet, Stockholm, National Gallery of Ireland, Dublin; Gothenburg Art Museum, Museums in Borås, Växjö, Karlstad and Falun and Art museums in Leipzig, Florence and Finland.

Sven Ehrenberg died on 24th July 2019 in Benon, France, aged 95.
