Gustav Werder 1918-1977

Gustav Frits William Werder was born in Limhamn, Malmö on 26th August 1918. He was a Swedish artist

Werder attended Skanska Målarskolan (Skaåne Painting School) in Malmö in 1937 and took study trips to France, Algeria, China and Japan just prior to the outbreak of WWII

Werder first exhibited (paintings drawings and photo-montage) in 1941 at SDS-Hallen, Malmö. Other exhibitions include Lund and Stockhom (1947); Vixjö (1949) and Rådhuset (City Hall), Malmö (1949). He regularly exhibited with the Skåne Art Association's (Skånes Konstförenings) Autumn Salons in Malmö (1940-1952).

Examples Wallboard's work are held in the collection of the Malmö Museum.

Gustav Werder died on 2nd October 1977, aged 59.
