Johan Wahlstedt 1911-2003
Johan Bengt Wahlstedt was born on 8th April 1911 in Nora, Sweden. He was a Swedish painter, designer and teacher.
He is the father of Swedish painter Annakajsa Wahlstedt (b.1942)
Wahlstedt attended the Technical School (Tekniska Skolan) in Stockholm (1935).
He exhibited with Ragnar Lindén (1919-1989) in Lindesberg (1946, 1947 and 1949) and in Nora and Arboga (1947). During the 1950s and early 1960s Wahlstedt exhibited annually at the Örebro County Art Society's exhibitions. He became a school teacher in 1954.
Examples of Wahlstedts work can be seen / are held in the collections of Lindesberg Hospital, Västerbotten County Council, Norrbotten County Council and Kopparberg County Council.
Johan Wahlstedt died in Falun on 13th May 2003, aged 92.
